Good evening.

Evening, I would like to say i have been very busy today......but iv not. i have done nothing, well not to start with. I eventually managed to get out my chair after tea to head into Card Creations and make a few cards. The cards iv made using Kanban on here dont have the product codes as they are made using bits and bobs and left overs, still I hope you like -
I found some images of cats and dogs in a store from town, you may recognize them from Joanna Sheens Furry Friends cdrom. its a 8x8 card with the main backing paper from Kanbans Lanuage of Flowers paper pad, The pink and and lime green card is from Bazzill Basics collection. The Green dew drops are of course Kanban and the ribbon is an Easter edition of ribbon the was available in Hobby craft. The sentiment is cut from my cricut die cutting machine.

-

I did post this card on my Card Creations site last week, but i really love it that i wanted to blog it. its only the 2nd time i have used Indigo-Blu stamps. Stunning they are. I have used their poppy heart stamps as well as their friendship stamp. I used Bazzill basics red card stock, Kanban black bobbled textured card and piece of left over ribbon i had. I added a few Kanban black and red bling gems as well as a few red dew drops.

-

Again apologies for not having codes but this is all made using scraps. Its from Kanbans Jubilee collection with some red spider then tied 2 bows using red and white ribbon from Hobby Craft, i also wrapped wide white organza ribbon round the spine of the card which is also available at Hobby Craft.

-

This card is using Kanbans beside the sea collection. I first distressed the edges of the background card using Tim Holtz distressing tool. this isnt the one for ink, its a small round key ring shape that has small, untouchable blades inside. I Mattered and layered the base background card onto a piece of tan Bazzill Basic Card and then onto a piece of gold mirri. On top i took a piece of ivory spider web and also slightly tore the edges and the center. I gave the toppers dimension by slightly bending them give them all a curved effect. Added a few sentiments, some pearls that were part of Kanbans dew drops collection and then took a small piece of rope ribbon and distressed it with ink.

I hope you like some of my makes from the past few days, remember to head over to my Card Creations site when im on most of the time. Looking forward to blogging more in the coming weeks as well as blogging card only to be seen on here.

Kanban Design Team - The Aftermath

Good evening, Just a quick blog post before i go and upload my makes i have made.
Another lovely snow day, i do love the winter but even im getting sick and tired and want the sun to come out on a daily basis. Cant wait to be able to sit in Card Creations with no heater on and the door constantly open.
Despite the Kanban DT being no more, theres still many hundreds of thousands of crafters out there who will continue to adore Kanban. Like my self they will have so many Kanban collections in their craft room so i have created this folder where i will continue to every now again post card Samples with the product codes. I know it may not be possible to track down the actually product but theres a very strong change alot of crafters will have the products i use. I hope this will still continue to be of use to all my kanban followers.
 will go post some samples.

Night all

Nearly Monday Again.

Evening everyone.

I hope you have all had a great weekend and been able to relax and craft. It will of been a week ago tomorrow since the news broke that unfortunately Kanban Crafts had gone in to administration. Certainly in the crafting world its left everyone in a bit of a daze. Especially all of us in the Design Team, not to mention all the lovely staff at head office who has lost their jobs. Because of this, many of us have gone back and looked at all the early collections we have, some dating 5/6 years. As soon as I came across this metallic collection earlier tonight, I had to dig it out and make some samples. I Loved this collection when it was released and I now remember why. These photos don't do the cards justice. The metallic sheen is so....well, metallic. not to mention how smooth it is. It also has a raised embossed textured feel on certain areas. Here are 3 samples I have made -

This is a DL sized card. The background image is matted and layered onto red mirri card aswell as the sentiments and border. Have added a red bow (I had no red ribbon left so I took a piece of white ribbon and coloured it using my promarkers. Also added a few red gems.

This A5 card is actually the 1st card I made tonight, I seemed to have a lot of blue stock left in the box, I don't know why as just by matting and layering it onto piece of dark blue Bazzill Basics card and wrapped white organza ribbon round the sides really makes it a stunning and elegant card. Just by adding a few extra touches such as the die cut swirls and a few clear gems just gives it that extra finishing touch.

This 3rd card is my favourite of the night, I have made it the same way I have made the previous A5 card but this one is an 8x8 square card, which is my favourite size at the moment. The only 2 differences are I have matted and layered the sentiments/toppers onto both dark blue Bazzill basics card and then onto Silver mirri card, then on the background I have added a small piece of white spider web just to give it a textured feel aswell as the smooth feel at the side.

I hope you like what you have seen and continue to come back and view more of my makes. I will be over time posting card makes using stock from all different companies from Crafters Companion, My Craft Studio, Joanna Sheen all to name a few. Also keep an eye out for what I consider a bad work in y crafting vocabulary - Hunkydory. Its no secret im not a big fan of the company or the quality however I do have a couple of old blockbuster collections that are sitting near enough unopened. So my plan is to make and sell these cards at special low cost prices.

Just catching up on a few things then it will be bed for me as up early for work then plenty to do in Card Creations. Quickly, talking of Card Creations, if your ever across on Facebook, please head over to my Facebook page where i upload majority of the cards I make.

Hope you have a good Monday and blog soon.

Good morning

Well good morning from a freezing cold Carnoustie. Least the snow is melted for now. Hopefully that's it gone for this year a I want spring to hurry up so I can get crafting with my craft door open as my craft room is in the garden. In saying that, Easter isn't far and we have spent one Easter rolling our eggs in the snow. I know hard to believe but its true, we actually didn't roll out eggs as my little cousin lost her egg as she couldn't find it in the snow.
What's everyone crafting with? I have just this min ordered new stamps from indigo blu so I'm dying for them to arrive. Have samples to make for Stephanie Weightman using a couple of her dies. They are stunning and need to get started. Like many crafters, I purchased the brand new collection of bamboo the panda from crafters companion so was having a wee play last night. I will attach a pic of an 8x8 card that I made last night. But then iv been going through a stamping phase aswell, well its not a phase, its something I'm really going to concentrate on as I purchased the whole collection of spectrum noir pens before Christmas so I want to get better at my colouring. To be fair I'm going through a "anything goes" phase where I'm using some of everything as iv also been using cd roms too. It's been fun to play in all different areas.
I couldn't end without mentioning again the unfortunate loss of a great craft company - Kanban. You will of seen from my post yesterday aswell as my card creations page - www.facebook.com/craigscardcreations that Kanban has now gone into admonition. Kanban was the first item I seen on a craft show and was the first item I bough. It's constantly been my no1 company and would purchase everything from card, collections to gems & embellishments. Love them & they will be missed by myself as being on their design team aswell as many other crafters out there.
Have a good day & blog soon :-)

Xx
